Vaccination campaign: A nationwide vaccination campaign is being launched from September 26 to prevent the deadly coronavirus infection. This initiative has been taken on the occasion of the birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

On Sunday (September 26) at noon, the director of the Department of Health’s vaccination program and line director confirmed the matter. Shamsul Haque.

He said that 6 million doses of vaccine will be given in one day in the vaccination campaign. Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek will give a detailed briefing on the program at noon. There he will outline a detailed plan.

Earlier, at a function on Thursday (September 23), the health minister said that a large-scale vaccination campaign would be launched again this month (September). More than one crore people will be vaccinated under the campaign. At the same time, the current vaccination program will continue.

In this regard, the Director General of the Department of Health, Prof. ABM Khurshid Alam told Dhaka Post, “We are not calling this mass vaccination program as mass vaccination.” However, we will give this vaccine in a large scale. About 2 crore vaccinations will be given regularly every month including 1 crore through vaccination campaign.

Asked which vaccine would be given, he said, “Synoform vaccine will be given all over the country again.” In this case, modern vaccination was given in the city corporation areas earlier but this time they will be vaccinated with synoform.

Regarding the stock of vaccines, the Director General of Health further said, “We have adequate stock of vaccines and we have ensured the source of the required vaccines in the coming days.”

Talking about the application of immunization of persons above 60 years of age in spot registration, he said that arrangements will be made for immunization of registered and unregistered persons above 60 years of age on a specific day of the week through spot registration on priority basis.

Khurshid Alam said, “We have seen that people in their sixties are mostly infected with corona and the death toll is high among them.” With this in mind, we are moving forward with a new vaccination plan. We will keep in mind that older people should get this vaccine on priority basis.
